Sidra Haye, PhD

Sidra Haye is a postdoctoral fellow at the USC Schaeffer Center. Her current research interests focus on physician decision-making, the impacts of physician's referring behavior on Medicare patients, differences in healthcare access for patients enrolled in Medicare Advantage and Traditional Medicare plans, and disparities in healthcare use.

Haye received her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Irvine.

Enrollment in Medicare Advantage (MA) plan is associated with lower estimated hospital costs. However, compared with Traditional Medicare, MA beneficiaries had lower access to high-volume hospitals and increased 30-day mortality for stomach, pancreas, or liver surgery.
