Dr. Zissimopoulos Participated in Discussion with Association of Health Care Journalists

Julie Zissimopoulos, Associate Director of the Schaeffer Center, spoke to Judith Graham and the Association of Health Care Journalists (AHCJ) last week.

Zissimopoulos and her colleagues through the MacArthur Network on an Aging Society, Toni Antonucci and S. Jay Olshansky, have been investigating the social and economic fabric that older Americans contribute to.  Zissimopoulos focused on exploring the interdependency between generations and the transfers of wealth that happen between them, Olshansky spoke about the disparities in longevity gains, and Antonucci discussed the future of caregiving and the creation of ‘synthetic families’ within this new paradigm of longer lives.
